Police in Portland say two people were injured in a shooting Tuesday night.

Portland police say officers responded to the shooting around 8:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Congress Street. They said a vehicle they believed was involved was later stopped in the Walgreens parking lot on Forest Avenue.

A 20-year-old Portland man suffered a gunshot wound, while a 21-year-old male sustained injuries from an interaction with a vehicle. Both men suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were being treated at Maine Medical Center.

Police said “items of significance” related to the incident were found after a search warrant was executed.

No other details about the investigation have been released.
