UMaine Police Issue Campus Warning in Domestic Violence Search

University of Maine Police are alerting the campus and public in Orono about the search for a domestic violence suspect.

They say harassment was first reported Monday, but the case was elevated to domestic violence stalking on Thursday when new information was obtained.

A timely warning notification was issued on campus Thursday at 6:31 p.m.

The suspect is identified as a 50-year-old white man not affiliated with UMaine.

He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin, approximately 180 pounds, with medium-length brown hair and brown eyes.

University of Maine Police issued a criminal trespass notice barring him from all University of Maine property.

Anyone who sees the suspect on any UMaine property is asked to call 911.

UMaine Police say no information has been received that the suspect poses a threat to other members of the UMaine community or public.
