UMaine seeks final applications for master food preservation


FALMOUTH, Maine (AP) The University of Maine is looking for residents who are interested in becoming masters at food preservation, which could be a useful skill during the coronavirus pandemic.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is accepting applications for the Master Food Preservation program until May 1.

The ten-session course is expected to take place in Falmouth and Brunswick.

The course is open to anyone 21 years old or older.

It will cover subjects including prevention of food-borne illness, food storage and safety and canning basics.

The sessions run through the summer.
