Police say the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal head-on collision in Hancock County fled the scene before he was taken into custody.

Maine State Police responded to the crash on Airline Rd. in Township 22 around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say a motorcycle, driven by 49-year-old Charles Brown of Indian Township, was hit head-on after a sedan crossed the centerline. Brown was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, 48-year-old Daniel Lyons of Veazie, fled the scene on foot but was taken into custody a short time later near the scene of the crash, according to police.

Lyons was treated for minor injuries and charged with aggravated OUI and manslaughter.
