Verdict Reached In Bubar Trial

AUGUSTA, Me. (WGAN)   A Brunswick man has been found not guilty of all charges connected with a May, 2017, shootout with police in Belgrade.

41 year old Scott Bubar was charged with aggravated attempted murder and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon..

Prosecutors claim Bubar fired a shotgun at a sherif’s deputy. The defense claimed Bubar never fired a shot.

The weapons were next to the body of Roger Bubar, the father. He was killed in an exchange of gunfire. His body was in a trailer.

The verdict in the non-jury trial was delivered Wednesday morning by Judge Michaela Murphy.
