A former Maine prison guard has been ordered to pay over $1 million to a woman he allegedly sexually assaulted.

The Portland Press Herald reports a federal judge has ordered 33-year-old Joshua Dall-Leighton to pay $1.1 million to the woman.

In 2016, Dall-Leighton was indicted on four counts of gross sexual assault and one count of unlawful sexual touching. The 33-year-old victim alleges Dall-Leighton assaulted her multiple times in a prison van while taking her from a state facility in Alfred to her job.

Dall-Leighton reportedly gave the victim genital herpes.
