SEARSMONT, Maine (WGAN) Police have charged a Searsmont man who they say is responsible for causing window damage in several towns.

The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office says that, since mid-February, police have taken 20 calls reporting damaged windows along Route 1 from Northport to Belfast and Route 3 from Belfast to Liberty.

Businesses, homes, and vehicles were targeted. Police said they believe the damage was done by someone shooting a BB gun.

The investigation led detectives to 51-year-old Alan Kunesh, who was taken into custody on March 11th and charged with aggravated criminal mischief. He was being held at Waldo County Jail where he posted $500 cash bail.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that they’re asking anyone with information about additional damage to contact the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
