JEFFERSON, Maine (AP)   Maine wardens say a boat hit a woman swimming on Damariscotta Lake and killed her.

The Maine Warden Service says 32-year-old Kristen McKellar was swimming with a friend Thursday evening when she was hit by a boat. WGME-TV reports the operator of the boat and his passengers immediately attempted to help McKellar and brought her to shore.

McKellar later died from her injuries.

The Maine Warden Service is investigating and no charges have been filed at this time.
