Wardens Search for Those Responsible for Illegal Deer Killing

MOUNT VERNON, Maine (WGAN) The Maine Warden Service is asking for help as they investigate the death of a deer they believe was killed illegally.

Corporal John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service says the deer was found on October 21st near Bean Road in Mount Vernon. They determined that the large male white-tail deer was likely killed illegally and left to waste, MacDonald says.

Maine Operation Game Thief is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to a conviction of those responsible. Wardens are asking anyone with information or knowledge of this incident to please call Maine Operation Game Thief at 1-800-ALERT-US (1-800-253-7887) or police dispatch in Augusta at (207) 624-7076.
