Warning About Distracted Driving from Police

PARIS, Maine (WGAN)  The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety and State Police sharing a video Monday they say shows the dangers of distracted driving.

The video, posted on both group’s Facebook pages, shows State Police Coporal Dan Hanson’s cruiser being sideswiped by a box truck.  The accident happened along Route 26 in Paris last November.

The driver was charged with distracted driving in the accident.  No one was injured.

Police are reminding drivers about the state’s move-over law, which requires drivers to slow down for emergency vehicles parked along the road with their emergency lights on and, if possible, to move to the left.
