A 44-year-old Waterboro man died in a motorcycle crash in Limerick early Saturday morning.

York County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the area of New Dam Road, just over the Waterboro town line, around 1 a.m.

The crash resulted in the death of Kirk Fogarty.

Police say it appears Fogarty failed to navigate a curve, went off the road and struck a telephone pole.

Waterboro EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Fogarty was wearing a helmet but speed appears to have been a factor.
