A shooting in Waterville early Sunday morning has led to an attempted murder charge.

Police say they responded to gunshots fired in the area of Pleasant Street in Waterville around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

There they stopped a sports car with no lights on and arrested 29 year old Maurice Watkins-Cundiff, for suspicion of operating under the influence and without a license.

Further investigation led officers to a residence on Pleasant Street where they found evidence of gun shots and a possible domestic dispute.

Police believe Watkins-Cundiff fired multiple shots at somebody leaving in another vehicle.

He was charged with criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon along side the attempted murder charge.
