A Waterville man was sentenced Friday to 10 years behind bars for a fatal shooting last year.

21-year-old Tyler Quirion pleaded guilty in April to manslaughter for the shooting death of 22-year-old Justin Iraola in February 2024.

Iraola was shot and killed while trying to intervene during a fight after a party.

Quirion was originally charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person before striking a plea deal.

Quirion was sentenced to 25 years with all but 10 suspended and will serve four years of probation after his release.
