Vehicles weighing more than 25 tons will be temporarily banned from using the Casco Bay Bridge next week.
The weight restriction will allow crews to perform maintenance work on the bridge spanning the Fore River between Portland and South Portland.
The Maine Dept. of Transportation says vehicles weighing more than 25 tons will not be allowed to use the bridge beginning Monday, and the weight restriction will remain in place until Friday.
According to the Portland Press Herald, message boards will inform drivers of the restriction, which will impact vehicles like tractor trailers, charter buses and fire trucks.
