PORTLAND – Today, Portland Radio Group announced that Portland radio station WGAN (560 AM 105.5 FM 1400 AM) is relaunching its flagship morning program.  The restyled show will feature long time WGAN radio personality Ken Altshuler, as well as newly hired co-host Matthew Gagnon, and Olivia Gunn, and will be called Mornings with Ken, Matt and Oliva and begin broadcasting Monday, June 20, 2016.

Altshuler has been heard on WGAN’s morning show for 13 years.  He looks forward to continuing to offer his perspective to the issues that face Mainers every day in the same spirited manner that WGAN listeners have become accustomed.

Gagnon, of Yarmouth, is well known to WGAN’s listening audience as a political analyst and strong conservative voice on the show’s weekly Eye on Politics segment, as well as a frequent guest host.  He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Maine Heritage Policy Center, a free market policy think tank headquartered in southern Maine.  He will continue serving in this role for MHPC in addition to his duties at WGAN.

“Matt’s career is based in and revolves around politics,” said Bob Adams, vice president and general manager of the Portland Radio Group. “It’s what he does and it’s what he knows. He is the perfect counter-part to Ken and offers intellectual, level-headed responses to the hottest topics of the day.”

Joining the two co-hosts on air will be Executive Producer Olivia Gunn.  Gunn has worked with WGAN for more than a year as the program’s executive producer.

“Olivia becoming a member of the on-air team offers the perspective of a young professional, a working woman, living, and navigating the real world,” said Operations Manager Jeff Pierce.

The relaunched show, which was formally announced on The Howie Carr Show Friday, will focus on major topics that are relevant to Mainers, including state, local and national politics, as well as social and social issues. WGAN’s listeners care about the top stories trending locally and nationally, and the morning show will work to bring opinions and ideas from every side.
