A man from Windham died after leading police on a chase in Standish over the weekend.

32-year-old Joseph Cleaves Jr. was the suspect in a domestic violence and terrorizing incident reported Sunday afternoon.

Police arrived at the scene in Gorham to find Cleaves in his car arguing with several other people. He then took off on Mighty Street, heading towards Route 114.

Police pursued Cleaves through Standish, before he went off the road and crashed. Police say he died before they were able to get to him.

The incident is still under investigation.
