WINDHAM, Maine (WGAN) A lockout was put in place at a Windham school due to a reported stabbing in the area.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, Manchester School was on lockout Thursday evening due to the stabbing in a nearby neighborhood. The superintendent said the school was not involved in the incident, but was placed on lockout because there was an after school program going on.

The stabbing happened nearby on Emerson Drive, according to police, with a perimeter set up about a mile away. Police say they’re looking for a black male with a backpack. The suspect is considered armed, and residents are being told not to approach him.
