BANGOR, Maine (WGAN)  The Bangor Police Department says a Winterport man has been arrested for secretly recording videos of women around town.

Police say they have been investigating 30-year-old Benjamin Emmott over the last few weeks after reports of Emmott secretly recording women in various public locations around the city.

Police say as a result of their investigation, Emmott has been charged with seven counts of violation of privacy, a class D crime.

Police say they have identified several of the women depicted in videos taken by Emmott.  They also say they have no evidence Emmott recorded videos of anyone under 18.

Police say they are still investigating and more charges are likely.
