AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN)  A Winthrop teenager accused of killing his parents in 2016 has pleaded not guilty.

19-year-old Andrew Balcer is charged with two counts murder and one count of aggravated cruelty to animals after his parents, Antonio and Alice Balcer were killed on Halloween in 2016.

In November of last year, a judge ruled that Balcer will be tried as an adult.  He was 17 at the time of the killings.

During that hearing, 911 tapes were played where Balcer was heard telling police he stabbed his parents to death, as well as the family’s dog.

Balcer’s trial will likely be held in November.
