An Augusta man charged in the killing of a Richmond man in 2019 will also face a charge of witness tampering.

46-year-old Tyon Shuron is charged with murder for killing Andrew Sherman in October of 2019 at his home in Richmond.

According to the Portland Press Herald, a judge denied a motion to dismiss a tampering charge. Shuron was accused of pressuring a witness to change her story while the two were in jail awaiting trial.

Shuron’s attorney argued to have the witness tampering charge dismissed and considered separately.

The trial is set to get underway in about a month.
