The Oxford Police Department has arrested Amber Croteau, a 35-year-old resident of Oxford, for allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving under the influence and attempting to flee the scene. The incident occurred in front of the Oxbow Beer Pub on Main Street, and resulted in the pedestrian sustaining serious bodily injury. Witnesses of the accident tried to stop Croteau’s car, but were unsuccessful. Officers conducting a DUI enforcement apprehended her shortly after.

Upon contact, Croteau exhibited signs of intoxication, and was taken into custody. She is now facing charges of operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and driving to endanger. Croteau’s bail has been denied, as she was already subject to bail conditions for felony theft, which prohibit her from engaging in any new criminal conduct.

Croteau’s boyfriend, Spencer Martinez, was also arrested on Friday for allegedly operating under the influence as he arrived at their residence intoxicated. The pedestrian that was struck suffered several broken bones, but has since been released from the hospital.
