SOUTH THOMASTON, Maine (AP) A Maine driver is facing a manslaughter charge in a crash that killed her passenger.

Court documents show 19-year-old Kelsey Campbell, of South Thomaston, was arrested Tuesday. She also was charged with aggravating operating under the influence and operating beyond license condition.

Police say witnesses saw Campbell driving at high speeds before she lost control while passing a vehicle in May 2017. The car went of the road on Route 131, hitting trees and rolling over.

Police say 21-year-old Zachary Elwell was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead.

Court records show Campbell’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Campbell hasn’t entered a plea yet. It wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer. She told police Elwell had jumped from the back seat to the front of the vehicle.
