Woman dies in head-on crash in rural Downeast Maine

TOWNSHIP 7, Maine (AP) Maine State Police say a woman in Maine was killed when a vehicle she was driving crossed a center line and struck a pickup truck head-on.

The crash killed 51-year-old Ami Norton, of Gouldsboro, on Wednesday. Police said Monday the crash happened on Route One in Township 7, which is near Gouldsboro in Downeast Maine.

They say the operator of the pickup truck was transported to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Norton was pronounced dead at the scene.
