Police identify victim in deadly crash in Sidney

State police say a woman was killed Friday morning after her pickup truck overturned in Kennebec County.

It happened at about 8:15 a.m. in Sidney at the intersection of the Reynolds Hill and Middle Roads.

Police say the truck, driven by 38-year-old Elizabeth Simmons of Sidney, went off the road on a slight curve and came to rest on its roof.

Simmons, the truck’s only occupant, was killed instantly in the crash.

In a press release late Friday morning, police said the truck was speeding, and Simmons was not wearing a seat belt.
