JEFFERSON, Maine (AP) Maine police say a 21-year-old woman has died in a car crash.

Police say Jefferson resident Laura Foley died Sunday evening while driving her SUV around a corner on Route 126 in Jefferson.

Authorities say Foley lost control of her SUV around 8 p.m. and then hit several trees near the intersection with Hinks Road.

Foley was the sole occupant of the SUV, and investigators cited speed and driver inexperience in the crash. Foley was wearing her seatbelt.
