A woman is hospitalized after being found near a mostly submerged car in a marsh in Wells Friday afternoon, according to our info partners at CBS13.

Police didn’t name the woman nor give details about her age or where she’s from. They also didn’t say how she came to be in the car.

Wells Police, Fire and EMS responded to a phone call that there was a vehicle possible in the ocean near Mile Road at approximately 2:15 p.m.

Police say the woman was in the water near where the vehicle was submerged in the marsh area at the end of Ox Cart Lane.

Police and fire were able to pull her from the marsh where she was transported to the hospital.

The Maine State Police Underwater Recovery Team responded to the scene.

The team confirmed the female was the only occupant in the vehicle.
