Workplace death in Dayton under investigation by OSHA

A Maine man is dead after being hit by a front-end loader at his workplace in Dayton.

Maine State Police say 43-year-old Cory Maddox of East Waterboro was walking across the yard of Dayton Sand and Gravel Monday when he was hit by the bucket of a front-end loader that was being operated by another worker.

Maddox died at the scene and the incident is under investigation by OSHA.

Police say there is no sign of criminal activity in the incident.
