Maine Points: Community Gourmet

The Community Gourmet is a grassroots effort to address
food insecurity in Southern Maine. Their mission is nourishing,
teaching and caring. They provide food care packages to their
neighbors struggling with food insecurity. In addition to
providing food care packages, they go one step further with their
recipe kits to provide hope, inspiration and opportunity by
teaching their neighbors how to create nutritious meals.

By making food available in an easily accessible and
anonymous way, they are able to provide support to their
neighbors and help diminish the devastating affects of
hunger and the emotional toll of shame and helplessness.
They give our neighbors the support they need to feel
empowered and confident. Together, we can make a
difference!
