It’s called Flags for Heroes, an annual tradition that gives people the opportunity to honor the heroes in their lives—whether that’s a veteran, first responder, healthcare worker, teacher, family member, mentor, or anyone who has made a meaningfulimpact.
The event has become a moving tribute for thousands of Mainers while also helping support important community initiatives through Portland Rotary.

New data from the Deportation Data Project shows ICE has arrested roughly 482 people in Maine so far in 2026—more than the previous two years combined.
