We speak to Andrew Cook, Board Chair of The Northern New England American Heart Association, about the upcoming Maine Heart Walk. This event will take place Sunday, May 21st at Back Cove in Portland. It’s part of an annual, nationwide fundraising effort by the American Heart Association, as similar walks take place all across the country. The first Heart Walk took place in 1994. In the nearly 30 years since, walkers have raised close to $5 billion to fund research and treatment for heart disease and stroke—the #1 and #5 killers in America.
