Maine Points: Teens To Trails

Danny speaks to Kelly Thayer, Manager Corporate Social Responsibility for
Unum & Alicia Heyburn, Executive Director, Teens to Trails. Teens to Trails works with any Maine middle or high school to connect students with the outdoors.  They
help Maine middle and high schools start and sustain an Outdoor Club.  They
are working with over 59 schools currently.

We also go over The Life Happens Outside® Challenge that provides a way for the whole school community to intentionally spend lots of time outside for the last week of October. Every minute outside counts — from sports practice to dog walking, camping in the yard, or doing homework in the park! It’s best when the whole school takes part and the community supports them. They’ve had schools offer
outdoor screenings of movies, teach classes & eat lunch outside, and host all school field days.
