Maine Points: The Dream Factory & Haven’s Candies

The Dream Factory is the largest all-volunteer driven children’s wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children who have life-threatening illness. The organization believes children with chronic illnesses and disorders also suffer from substantial emotional and physical pain. The Dream Factory of Portland has been granting dreams to Maine children ages 3-18 since 1987, and the two chapters in Maine have granted over 400 dreams to Maine kids in that time. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, over 90% of all funds raised stay here in Maine and go directly to fulfilling these very special dreams.

The Covid-19 Crisis might have cancelled their annual Make Your Own Candy Cane event, but it did not stop Haven’s from coming up with a way to support the Dream Factory. They are donating a portion of each candy cane sale to the Dream Factory throughout the holiday season, plus holding a “Golden Ticket” raffle where the winner gets a tour of the candy factory and then fills a wicker basket full of Haven’s candies! For Golden Tickets visit one of the two Haven’s locations in Westbrook and Portland or maine.portland@dreamfactoryinc.org or call us at 207.591.7012.
