MSG Gary Gordon was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic sacrifice in Mogadishu in 1993, as famously depicted in the movie Black Hawk Down. Gordon grew up in the town of Lincoln, Maine, where a memorial statue is being unveiled and dedicated on Monday, August 30 at 10am. Veteran Gary Bies is a local community leader in Lincoln who has helped plan and fundraise for the memorial. He joins host Aaron Chadbourne to discuss Gary Gordon’s service and the upcoming memorial dedication.
