One person is hospitalized, and three officers are on leave after a shooting in the outer Broadway area of Bangor on Thursday afternoon.

Police say they were called to a home at about 2:45 pm on a report of a person with a gun who was threatening suicide.

They say the person ignored commands to drop the weapon and fired shots at them, after which they shot and wounded the person.

Police say the injured person was taken to a hospital, while three officers were placed on leave under standard procedure in a police involved shooting.

The condition of the injured person is not clear, although police say they provided medical aid before the person was taken to a hospital.

Bangor Police identified the three officers involved in the shooting as Brian Cronk, hired in 2015, Taylor Reynolds, hired in 2016, and Ben Ferland, hired in 2018.

They say any further information will be provided by the Office of the Attorney General, who will be leading the shooting investigation.

A portion of the road is closed during the incident.
