Woman Loses Control of Vehicle, Goes Airborne Over River

WATERBORO, Maine (WGAN) Police in York County say a car being driven by a woman who appeared to suffer a medical event went airborne over a river.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 on West Road near the intersection with Ross Corner in Waterboro. Deputies say the Ford Escape was being driven by 65-year-old Christine Morrison.

The investigating deputy estimates the vehicle went airborne about 25 to 30 feet over the river.

Morrison was brought to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford as a precaution.
