Listen weekdays to Howie Carr from 2pm – 6pm

HOWIE CARR combines information, intelligence, wit and impressive journalistic credentials in his daily afternoon drive program. Politics, policy, current events and organized crime are all part of Howieʼs unique blend of entertainment and information.

A longtime writer for the Boston Herald, Howie brings his extensive experience as an award-winning journalist to his daily show. Whether discussing the inconsistencies of Washington politics, taking calls on local or regional elections, or reporting the latest on organized crime figures (some of whom he helped convict), listeners have come to count on Howie for giving them the unvarnished truth.

Unlike shows that focus exclusively on conservative politics, Howie mixes politics, news, opinion, guest interviews and listener interactions into an entertaining show.

Howie Carr is the New York Times best-selling author of The Brothers Bulger and Hitman. In addition, he wrote several other Boston organized-crime books and two novels. He hosts a syndicated talk-show based in Boston and is a member of the Radio Hall of Fame. Howie is also a columnist for the Boston Herald, and has won a National Magazine Award for Boston Magazine. Carr is a contributor to Newsmax TV.

Boston organized-crime boss Whitey Bulger was so infuriated by Carr’s groundbreaking reporting that he once put out a murder contract on Carr, a story detailed in 2006 on 60 Minutes. At his 2013 trial on murder and racketeering charges, Bulger tried to have Carr banned from the courtroom by calling him as a defense witness. Now imprisoned for life, the crime czar still says his greatest regret is not murdering Carr when he had the chance.

Carr once taught a course at Harvard, where he had to cross a picket line against himself to get to his class.
