A Peace Deal Made?

President Trump claimed in an interview that he had reached an agreement with Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz toll-free and prevent Israel from nuclear obliteration. He suggested the U.S. might become a paid protector of the Middle East if Iran fails to reach a nuclear deal. Trump praised China and Russia for not interfering in the blockade of the Strait. The deal, expected to be discussed in Switzerland, appears to be a 60-day ceasefire with no nuclear material agreement. Trump’s assertions were met with skepticism, as details of the agreement are not yet public, and the effectiveness of the deal remains uncertain.
