Mark your calendars for National Thaw Day, coming up on Thursday, November 21st! It’s time to start thawing your turkey. Experts at the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line say it’s more than just going from the freezer to the fridge. Thawing involves a bit of math and a few tricks we need to keep in mind. As the big day approaches, Turkey Talk-Line Expert, Jan Allen, joins us with ways to ensure you have the perfect turkey on your holiday table!

Jan is a former high school Home Economics foods teacher, which helped prepare her for her role at Butterball. She loves working with people who are interested in preparing delicious nutritious food. After leaving the teaching profession, she was a National Home Economist for Montgomery Wards in the major appliance division. Jan has also worked in the consumer affairs department of Congra Foods which previously included Butterball. She also spent a number of years promoting microwave oven sales through demonstrations and classes
