Dr. James Herbert

We speak with Dr. James Herbert at Eggs & Issues. The University of New England (UNE) emerged from humble beginnings to become Maine’s largest private university. With campuses in Portland, Biddeford, and Tangier, Morocco, along with robust offerings through UNE Online, the university plays a key role in Maine’s workforce development. UNE is home to Maine’s only medical school, the only dental school in northern New England, and other leading health profession programs. It also has a nationally ranked marine science program, and emerging strengths in business, entrepreneurship, and other areas. President James Herbert will discuss the complex challenges facing higher education and how UNE is navigating them to continue its forward momentum.
