I-Team Investigates 11/24/24

Matt speaks with Dan Lampariello, Investigative Reporter with CBS-13/Fox 23 on their I-Team Investigates. One year after an -I-Team investigation found the majority of municipalities in Maine were not usings “.gov” domains for their websites, we’ll update the data to see if they’ve made any progress.

Cyber experts say scams and spoofs of local government websites can be made easier with a less secure domain name. With the federal government offering free help to switch to a .GOV, experts say there’s no reason a city or town shouldn’t be doing it. For the ones that still haven’t transitioned over to the more secure domain, we’ll question why.

Airs TONIGHT 6PM on CBS-13 and 10PM on FOX-23.
