I-Team Investigates- MARIJUANA GROW DANGERS

Marijuana growing operations, both legal and not, are popping up in cities and towns across the state.  This has led fire agencies to adapt and figure out specific plans for how to respond to potential fires inside the converted buildings. Most recently, this issue came to light when firefighters in Jefferson responded to a fire at a converted building that turned out to be a grow house. While that operation was legal, the town didn’t know about it and that breakdown could have put firefighters at risk. We’ll examine how fire agencies are preparing for these situations and question if more needs to be done on the state/local level to track where these grows are popping up.
