PathStone Corporation is a private, not-for-profit community development service organization founded in 1969 and currently operating in eight states and Puerto Rico. Through our Workforce Development programs, we aim to provide customized, people-centered professional development services leading to portable skills and enhanced employability for diverse individuals: unemployed and underemployed adults.
We speak with Elizabeth Grout is the regional administrator for The Pathstone Corporation and Jim DeWolfe is the Director of Student Acquisitions at NTI (Northeast Technical Institute) Through their Workforce Development programs, Pathstone’s mission is to help people find their way to employment or better employment. One of the tools Pathstone uses is a grant from the US Department of Labor, called the National Farmworkers Jobs Program (NFJP). Pathstone Corp. became the Maine grantee for NFJP in 2021. NFJP is used to improve the economic situation of a someone in an agricultural career, OR help someone currently in agriculture to find employment in a new industry.
Since 2021, Pathstones has been pushing to establish partners in every corner of the state to help the Maine people who can benefit from the NFJP. NTI is one of those partners, and the school will be providing several fully funded CDL-A scholarships for Mainers who are eligible for the NFJP.
