Speed and Alcohol Suspected Factors in a Casco Car Crash, Killing a Hiram Man

A Hiram man was killed in a single vehicle crash by the town line of Casco and Naples, early Sunday morning.

35-year-old Nicholas Strout was found by emergency crews around 1:15 am, outside his Jeep, which was engulfed in flames

Strout was taken to Bridgton Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the initial investigation indicates that Strout was driving west on State Park Road when he went off the road and collided with a large tree.

So far, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office believes speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
