Police Charge Biddeford Teen for Vandalism


SACO, Maine (WGAN)  Saco Police say they ave made an arrest after someone broke a glass window at a convenience store earlier this week.

Saco Police say Sunday night, they responded to a criminal mischief complaint at Bob and Mike’s Mini-Mart on Elm Street.  Police say they found a large plate glass window at the business had been broken.  The rear window of a van parked behind the business was also broken.

Police say through review of video surveillance, they found out that a suspect had shot out the windows with a BB gun before heading south into Biddeford.  Similar incidents happened in Biddeford at the same time, according to police.

Thursday, Police say they arrested 18-year-old Emil Girard on unrelated charges.  Police say he fit the description of the person who damaged the businesses and was interviewed.

As a result, police say Girard was charged with criminal mischief.  Police say they also found out that Girard was responsible for the theft of a Tao Tao motorbike that was stolen from the Pine Ledge Terrace on Saturday.   He picked up an added charged of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Police took Girard to York County Jail.
