BANGOR, Maine (WGAN) Bangor Police say a Bangor man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fire that killed two people this week in the city.

Police say 25-year-old John De St. Croix has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Michael Bridges and Desiree York.

Bridges and York were found dead inside a delivery truck that was on fire on Washington Street.  Firefighters were called to the scene just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night for a reported vehicle fire.

Police say the pair’s bodies were found inside the unmarked delivery truck after the fire was put out.

Police say De St. Croix was arrested at the Bangor Police Department after being interviewed by detectives. He has been taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Police say De St. Croix may face additional charges and that their investigation is ongoing.
