1 Dead, 4 Injured in Portland Overnight Fire

One person is dead and four are injured from an overnight house fire in Martin’s Point off Route 1 in Portland.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Olympia Street at 1:20 am, where there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the fire.

There were reportedly up to 10 fire engines at the scene. The Portland Fire Department says they had to vacate the home at 1:28 am because of falling structural integrity. The fire was then elevated the 3-alarms.

The condition of the four injured people in not known.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

The house is considered a total loss.
