14-Year-Old Lewiston Shooting Victim Now Facing Charges

A 14-year-old boy who was shot in the leg in Lewiston earlier this month is now facing charges.

Police found the boy with a gunshot wound on Avon Street after reports of screaming and gunshots, and later arrested 13 and 15 year old boys related to the shooting,

The shooting victim is now charged with felony theft for reportedly receiving a stolen firearm and Falsifying Physical Evidence.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

The 13-year-old boy shooting suspect was already charged with elevated aggravated assault, while the 15-year-old was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

The shooting took place at 4 Avon Street around 4:30 p.m. on May 7.
