17-year-old Hudson girl pronounced dead after crash

Police say a 17-year-old girl from Hudson died in a crash Saturday afternoon.

Penobscot County deputies responded around 1 p.m. to Darling Road near Sherry Drive in Hudson for a reported single-vehicle crash with serious bodily injury.

They say a preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling on Darling Road when the it left the roadway, struck some trees and rolled over, ejecting the driver.

The vehicle came to rest in the roadway near Sherry Drive.

Police say the driver, Chantell Hunt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hudson Fire Department and G&H Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
