A 19-year-old woman faces aggravated drug trafficking charges after a month-long investigation into drugs reportedly being sold out of motel in Fairfield.
Deputies say they arrested Adrianna Velez of Fairfield after carrying out a search warrant at the American Lodge, on Main Street, where they say they found 13 grams of Fentanyl and cocaine, along with digital scales, illicit drug related documentation and illicit drug related paraphernalia.
Officers also say they plan to bring criminal charges against another person in the case, once it’s reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office
In addition, deputies say the cocaine seized contained Fentanyl, which can be a very dangerous and deadly combination of illicit drugs when ingested.
Velez is charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A, Fentanyl), Unlawful Furnishing in Scheduled Drugs (Class C, cocaine) and Violation of Conditions of Release X2. Deputies say the drug charge is aggravated, due to the amount of Fentanyl seized.
Velez was out on two sets of bail for unrelated criminal matters when she was arrested on May 20. Her bail is set at $25,000 cash or $1,000 cash with a SCCCP Contract.
Velez’s initial Court date has been set for August 6, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., at the Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.
Fairfield Police assisted the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
