19-year-old motorist dies in crash in Down East Maine

EDMUNDS, Maine (AP) A 19-year-old motorist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Edmunds, state police said.

Meghan McPhail, of Whiting, died as a result of her injuries in the crash Wednesday evening on Route 1, troopers said.

The crash is under investigation and troopers believe alcohol and speed were likely factors. McPhail was not wearing a seat belt, investigators said.
